HOW IT WORKS
One character, three layers
Not stroke counts, not birth charts — we read a character's components.
Five Elements character analysis splits a Chinese character into the parts it is built from (e.g. 語 = 言 + 吾). Each part carries an element — wood, fire, earth, metal or water. Those elements are compared with the element of your zodiac sign to see whether they generate, overcome, or match it, telling you whether the character supports you or pushes against you.

What is Naming Helper (取名助手)?
Naming Helper is a free Android app by Taiwan1996 Studio. It splits each character of a Chinese name into its components, looks up each component's Five Elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water), and compares them with the element of your Chinese zodiac sign to describe your relationships with elders, love, and career. It also offers compatibility analysis, baby and company name suggestions, and character divination.
Do I need my birth date and time?
No. The app only needs a name and a Chinese zodiac sign. The zodiac sign sets your main element; the components of each character in the name are compared against it.
How is the Five Elements character analysis calculated?
In three layers: (1) each character is split into components and each component's element is compared with your zodiac element; (2) the components inside one character are compared with each other for internal harmony; (3) the strengths are combined into a star rating and a plain-language conclusion. The database covers 17,951 character decompositions and 3,155 component-element mappings.
Is the app available in English?
The app interface is in Traditional Chinese, because the analysis works on Chinese characters. It is most useful for people who read Chinese or have a Chinese name.
Is it free? Is there an iPhone version?
It is free and ad-supported; the app always asks before showing an ad and you can decline. It is currently available on Android via Google Play only.
Does it collect my personal data?
No account is needed. Names and analysis history stay on your phone. The server only performs the calculation and does not keep names or zodiac signs; a random device ID is used for rate limiting. See the privacy policy.
